Reaching the Unreached
A strategy to reach those areas and/or populations so far not reached
for leprosy elimination activities.
The following areas and/or population groups were the focus of
this strategy:
- Tribal areas in general
- Tribal areas in far flung, difficult to reach places
- Urban areas; particularly educated middle class
- Uncovered population where leprosy services, either through
NLEP or General Health Care (GHC) are not available
- Muslim populations, particularly women
- Border areas
- Migratory population areas
- Jail populations
